Elegy. On the death of an amiable young lady, who was
lately killed by the accidental discharge of a pistol.
What doleful tidings in mine ears they ring,
The maid I love is she for ever gone?
Alas 'tis true! her fun'ral dirge they sing;
In rueful notes her hapless end bemoan.
